Vocabulary: Community Workers
This month in Kindergarten, we learned new vocabulary words which included different community helpers in our community. Below is the song we learned to help us remember some of the important jobs that people have in our community where we live, work, and play. It's sung to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." Our connected read-alouds were called, Clothesline Clues to Jobs People Do and The Jobs We Do. We loved pretending to be detectives and trying to guess the community worker's job by looking at the clothes they wear and the tools they use. We also worked together to complete a community helpers sort in order to identify community workers.
Letters and Sounds: N,B,R,F
This month we learned the above letters and sounds. We practicing finding words that start with the beginning sounds of these letters through picture sorts, letter/sound cover boards, alphabet movement sticks, and writing our letters in different ways! Below is this month's letter song about snowflakes!
This month we added more sight words to the list of words we can read. All of the sight words we've learned so far including the new words can be found below with our sight word song of the month. Students also enjoyed learning a new sight word game called, POP!
