While learning about friction we did multiple experiments to see what materials caused more and less friction. One of our experiments was "Friction Races" where we raced cars down ramps on different materials including bubble wrap, tin foil, wax paper, and sand paper. Another friction experiment was called, "Friction Ice Skates" where we tested out different materials including wax paper, laminating film, tin foil, and paper plates, and "ice skated" around our classroom to test out which material would cause the least friction and therefore the best ice skates to slide in smoothly around our classroom. Ask your child: What was their hypothesis? Did the results show they were correct or incorrect? Which material was best for "ice skating?"
