The entire third grade took a field trip to Randall's Farm this fall. Each year as a team, the third grade teachers try to create some sort of memorable experience for the students to write about during their personal narrative unit. This year was another huge success as students played fall games, ate apple cider donuts, hid in hay mazes, navigated corn mazes, overcame obstacle courses, picked pumpkins, and learned about farming crops, specifically the importance of bees and honey. In the weeks to come students used this experience to enhance their writing, and I must say the results were that beautiful, detailed, interesting stories were written about that special day!
