December was another very busy and exciting month. In Kindergarten, one of the areas that we worked on for comprehension was comparing and contrasting. Check our our hula hoop venn diagram which shows the similarities and differences in Polar Bears and Panda Bears. In first grade, we continued working on our writing skills by writing reading responses based on our Reading Street leveled reader texts. Second grade has started something brand new. We have begun our Model Curriculum Unit on Animals and Where They Live. Check out the pictures below of our animal habitat photo gallery where we practiced asking wh- and h- questions about the photographs. We also read some very interesting National Geographic articles about ocean creatures. Third, Fourth, and Fifth grades have continued to work on comprehension skills including cause and effect, main idea and details, and sequencing using various science and social studies connected texts.
