Every Monday, in all groups in all grades, we are introduced to our new vocabulary words for the week. This week, and for the past few weeks in Kindergarten, we've been learning prepositions, or "position words" as we've been calling them. They enjoyed a "Find the Cat" game in which they used prepositions to find where that sneaky cat was hiding. In First Grade, our words came from this week's book, called, "Life in the Desert." First Graders chose "Swat It!" from the student choice list and they enjoyed "swatting" vocabulary words and pictures that matched my oral definitions. Second Grade decided to try their luck at "Vocabulary Spin and Win and try to win while learning this week's vocabulary words from the text, "How's the Weather?" Third Grade words came from "Mealtime in Madagascar and they played, "Rolling, Rolling, Rolling." Fourth Grade was introduced to a new game that you may have heard of before-"Headbands," only this time we played with vocabulary words from the text, "A World of Languages."
